For a vast majority of Americans, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is something most Americans know very little about (that includes me!). This ignorance probably stems from the fact that most of us are not affected by it's decisions first hand. Therefore, we don't see the shady labor practices of corporations like Wal-Mart or how the production practices of multi-national corporations are destroying the environment and the lives of so many poor people, in particular, people of third world countries.
Americans don’t want to think about how wasteful and costly it is for products to be shipped all over the world for us to consume, and how these shipping costs are subsidized by the governments of different countries. Americans seem to be more concerned about getting their new car or truck and their brand-name clothing. We don’t want to think about the tariffs placed against poor countries in order to keep their industries from competing with the markets of wealthy countries.
It's crazy that these 'dumb' Americans include highly educated people. Especially considering that illiterate poor farmers in India can offer informed, detailed critiques of the WTO. These poor farmers, of course, have a vested interest. They desperately want to know why their lives have changed so much in the past few decades.
We (at least those of us who are middle and upper class) are privileged with access to loads of information, yet that doesn’t seem to motivate us to educate ourselves of the many social, political and economic tragedies perpetuated by this corrupt business and governmental system. I know there is a lot of censorship of the news, but that is not a good excuse. It seems that ignorance has become part of American culture. It's easier to enjoy the privileges of our position as Americans, rather than to look at the reality.
So, there! That’s my uninformative rant of the day showing how much I want to better educate myself of the powers and practices of the WTO.
Why do we need the government? -A couple of thoughts in the written form

An essential part of our government is advocating a view of human nature that nesscesitates the existence of said government, meaning they endorse a view of human nature which views people as being naturally greedy, sinful, and lawless. If not for the laws and power invested in the government, justice itself could not exist and civilization would fall.
Q: How did these lawless freaks ever organize themselves into populations with governments to keep order?
A: Lucky.
Q: How does this view of human nature effect the normal peasant's (person's) psyche?
A: "I need my government to protect me because deep down other people are sinful, greedy, and lawless. Without my government to protect me, with its institutions of Police and 911 dispatchers looking out for me, I could never feel safe."
Is that you? Why are you so afraid of your neighbor? Chances are she's just like you: just getting by/ poor, and dependent on the government to keep her safe from international terrorist. International terrorists DO NOT want to hurt innocent people, what they what is to destroy the greedy Corporate Conglomerates that are raping the entire world. This is should be the same goal of every decent thinking person in the world. It's not each other we need to fear, we're all in the same boat. We're all under the thumb of expolitive corporate greed and we are suffering as a whole.
The longest running war in history started about 10,000 BC and is currently raging on a global level. It is a war we all take part in. Us: the poor, verse them: rich ruling elite. You can't learn about this war, ethics, or world suffering from television. The rich own your fucking television programming and they own your goddamn worldview! Think about it for a second people. Your ancestors had to DIE for the rights we enjoy as American citizens. Don't be so rash as to give away these rights that your great-grand parents DIED to give you. If the television tells you something, anything, you be better off assuming that the opposite is true. Television is a corporate mind control machine and you are willingly turning it on in your house, in front of your children, effecting their worldview and their overall place in the world. Stop, and turn it off.

Think of the television stories you see on the news, primetime, and Hollywood movies. Most of these stories are about people who have or are committing crimes. People who have decided to sink back into the chaotic manifestation of discord that waits in the savage heart of humanity. Over half the time these shows will contain the part where the criminal is brought to justice by the steady hand of government institutions. This proves that civilization is always going to have justice as long as the government is in power.
Q: But who are these folk that provide us with our news, movies, and primetime cop dramas?
A: Corporate conglomerates.
Q: What else do these corporate conglomerates own?
A: The Unites States Government for one.
Q: So it's the corporations that both entertain us and inform us, as well as protect with there puppets, the United States Government.
A: Yes.
Whew, glad they're on the job controlling human nature. If people were left to their own devices they would probably murder everybody in a lust-filled rage. I feel so warm inside. These televised scare tactics are designed to paint a picture of human nature that is makes it seem like the world is full of greedy, lawless people ready to tear each other apart, if not for fear of institutional justice. Shit, I guess I'd better go on ignoring the old woman up the street, she might want to rob me of my food stamps!
One more thought before you continue on with your life in this hostile world.
Q: How does institutional justice (the Cops) deal with acts of violence against civilization (crime)?
A: Guns, pepper spray, tear gas, rubber bullets, clubs, flash light over the head, hand cuffs, restraint (physical and chemical), loss of rights, loss of identity (prisoner # 3434532 etc.), shackles, razor wire, barbed wire, "three strikes you're out," and concrete cells to name just a few.

Here's a simple, non-harmful way to protect our natural resources. At most it will take 10 minutes of your time, once or twice a week.
You get junk mail, right? Sure, most of us do, and the majority throw it away without a second thought. The rest recycle, but even that isn't enough. We can continue on this way, or we can force businesses to stop sending literally tons of unsolicited mail each day.
Here is how you can help:
Each time you recieve junk mail that includes a 'postage paid' envelope, remove anything containing your name or other personal information, put it back into the envelope provided, and MAIL IT BACK. This will cost businesses 37 cents each time, yet business will not increase. Now, by itself that little 37 cents is not enough to put a dent in any profit margins, but imagine 1,000 people mailing back five envelopes each in a week. That's $1850. How about 10,000 people and 10 envelopes per week? 1,000,000? The amount becomes staggering.
Our goal is to make mass mailings as expensive as possible and force companies to find alternative means of soliciting business.
Unsolicited business wastes money, but we can be smarter than they are and force the solicitors to pay for sending mail back to themselves!
What the hell is PNAC?

PNAC stands for the Project for the New American Century, and yes it is as creepy and foreboding as the name suggests. Basically, a group of far right Republicans got together in the mid 1990's to try to influence the course of the American future, and therefore, the course of the world. They believe that it is necessary for America to have a militaristic presence all over the world, and that this is the positive course of the future, for the planet. Of course to do this, they want to divert funds from other places to the military (the usual places: schools, health care, environmental safe guards). Essentially these men started PNAC to CHANGE THE COURSE OF THE FUTURE, and to bring America closer to a MILITARY DICTATORSHIP.
So who are these men? You might have heard of some of them: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush . . . many more members of our current legislative branch. The funny thing is that when they started PNAC their views were considered too radical for even the rest of the Republican Party, and they were the outsiders. Now things have changed, but not by luck. Is it coincidence that things fell in place for them? Let's see. . .
PNAC stated that they needed control of the executive branch of government and both houses of Congress to start implementing their plan for world domination. They also knew that the kind of laws they would need passed to get the PNAC plan on track would need a general change in political climate for the Congress to vote their way. They envisioned that one of the only ways to further their quest for American global domination was for some kind of attatck on U.S. soil to take place. I quote from one of their own reports "the process of transformation . . . is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic event . . . like a new Pearl Harbor." Figured it out yet? That was the 9/11 attack.
Well it is certainly lucky that the election was so close as to come down to Florida as the deciding state, but is wasn't luck that Jeb was there to insure that the election went the way they wanted. Was it luck that the twin towers got bombed? Information about the Al-Qaeda's plans to bomb the World Trade Center was on Bush's desk before the bombings (courtesy of the CIA), yet the disaster was not prevented. It is also well-documented that the British government sent reports warning the White House about an attack during the week of September 9th. It seems like the boys in charge might have believed that the loss of life would be a small price to pay to create the climate they needed to implement their plans. Only in the fearful post 9-11 days could these men pass the laws that they needed to, and boy, did they (not just the Patriot act, but many others). Looks like they got their "new Pearl Harbor". (This is conjecture, of course. I have no proof. Still, seems fishy dont' it?). Of course it does. During the attack, Bush did nothing in the kindergarten class he was reading to when White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer informed Bush of the first impact. Bush claimed that he "didn't want to frighten the children."
I had never heard of PNAC before my friend showed me the places to look on the net but it is right there for anyone to find. Just search on google.com for "PNAC" and the first thing that will come up is the official PNAC page! The following matches will be mainly liberal writers exposing PNAC, and it is from both these sources that I have gotten my information. But YOU have to look! The media will not tell you about PNAC and who is involved. Your TV newsman will never mention it and your local newspaper would rather tell you about ten peace protesters being arrested for stopping traffic. I have never been a conspiracy theorist, which is why this hits me so hard, and it should hit you too. Please spread the word, especially to those you know who are "undecided" on whom they will vote for. These PNAC fuckers are entrenched in leadership positions now, but it could be the beginning of the end for them a year from now if WE GET BUSH OUT OF OFFICE, any way possible.

What difference has your life made in creating a world YOU want to live in?
Why wait until corporate pollution gives you cancer at age 20 (like a good friend of mine did)? Don't wait until you're squatting in a crack house, abusing your mind and steeling from Plaid Pantry (like the kids down the street)?
They keep us dependent upon their corporate "benevolence" by providing cheap beer and drugs (Don't kid yourself the CIA control the drugs in this country, it's a huge chunk of our juggernaut economy).
The time to awaken is now! Turn off the "Corporate Mind Control" (TV), take a good look around. Good people (you), the suffering and abuse has to stop!
To participate in this "capitalism" is to volunteer yourself to slavery. Either you are born rich (%07 of this country) and you go on to become "masters" of others, or you are one of the 5.9 billion slaves drinking poison (arsenic) water and creating more slaves for the Elite's bidding
Rise up! Embrace each other! Stop taking those corporate mind control drugs; stop letting the television paint your world view; stop sending your children to the factories of social compliance previously known as our public school system.
The only way this world is going to get any better is if YOU realize that it is YOU who are responsible to change it. It is all about how involved you become in your own sphere of influence. Do not clothe your children with corporate advertisements! These companies are destroying the world through pollution, and the economic terrorism of sweatshop labor.
If you are going to allow yourself, or your children to be walking advertisements why not advocate a value or a thought that comes from YOU? Use acrylic paint or a permanent marker and design your own message (For example: "Nationalize Health Care, What's Good For Canada Is Good Enough For Me).
Instead of watching television, why not read, or discuss your thoughts with family or friends? "Diet for a new America" is an excellent book, and it will provide hours of discussion for you and your friends.
Do you really want to DIE (the thing that will happen when your life is over), leaving behind this unjust and oppressive world for your children and their children's children to deal with?
I will not.
Rise up, demand justice, and live a real life.
