In mid-February, a pdx indymedia videoista spent a week in southern 'Oregon' with the people who are trying to stop the logging of the Biscuit. Over five hours of interviews and forest footage were recorded. A tightly-edited, 29 minute video called "truth & lies of the biscuit fire" is the result, with the electronic music of Ashland artist, Random Rab, serving as its soundtrack.

"Truth & lies" has been shown in Ashland and Eugene and more screenings are planned in Cave Junction, the Bay Area, and the University of Montana. It's only been presented once in Portland so far, at a Videos From The Resistance event at It's a Beautiful Pizza. Hopefully more screenings will be scheduled, but your next opportunity is:

Sunday, May 15 @ 7:00 pm
People's Food Co-op

Also being presented will be videos of the Direct Actions that have been happening at the Fiddler Timber Sale during March & April. This collection will include the highly inspiring All Women's Blockade.

Forest defenders will be on hand to give updates, answer questions, perhaps demonstrate lockdown techniques (which they did at It's a Beautiful Pizza) and let you know how to help.

Like all PDX Indymedia Video Collective event, admission is FREE.
