i've smiled at misfortune

121-2180_IMG_2.JPG
Don’t mind me
i’m pathetic
i got a hundred different ways to not care.
and that’s just the beginning.
cause the part that makes the good
isn’t doing what it should
it’s beaten biblically stoned
with a chemical taste and a permanent hangover

it’s a fascinating feature
that simply requires the opportunity
to afford yourself the finer diversions
that senselessness can provide

i abbreviate moments of responsibility
and imagine things remotely
to avoid incidental contact
with any unpleasantry

i’ve mingled at parties
i’ve laughed with the pigs
i’ve smiled at misfortune
in hopes of discovering
a more in-depth understanding
of convenience without use
i know to enjoy routine distractions
because dreams are shallow lies
