I was going to say people who think voting even matters, but now I'd like to redirect your attention to rich kids who think they are being revolutionary.
You see, there are a lot of them in this town - buying their organic produce, making sure their toilet paper is recycled. Eatting and drinking at expensive, elitest spots like that place near Zupans on Belmont.
Do you think you are fooling anyone white boy?
I know for a fact that if a suit waved a bundle of bills under your nose you'd be on a plane to some Indian countryside we you could hold starving children in your arms while posing for a photo shoot in SPIN.
So you've studied at college. That's just what you get because you are WHITE and middle class. You think you have any idea what it is like to be working class or poor? Never! You never will!
Do us all a favor and take your intellect and shove it up your ass where it can be best used in a place familiar to you - as your head is usually up there anyway.
Oh, and enjoy the movie, asshole. tyler
Posted by Tyler at June 22, 2004 09:33 AMTyler, you're white and middle class.
Posted by: Dana at June 29, 2004 02:12 PMAnd one more thing...
It's still racism if you're making that distinction between skin color, even if it's against your own color.
Posted by: p.s. at June 29, 2004 02:16 PMthanks for alerting me of that [skin color] dana my good friend. having realized i am white, i think i'll take up business and look into investing in the chinese economy.
The point of my "child-like" rant was to express the fact that is is easy for me and the rest of the si gang to sit around at nice resturants and talk about evils of corporate shareholders and the coruption of the world order, because we are privilaged by our economic and racist up bringings.
the people that are sending their children to war and working two jobs probably don't have the same opportunities as i do to think about these things or use their time to try to counter the fascism of our (their) nation.it is sickening to me to go to n.e. portland, where you happen to live, dana and where rent used to be cheap and business was next to nil. now i see eco-friendly business being owned and run completely by white people in a neighborhood made up of people who can't afford these services because of society's racism, and classism, and what ever other isms i'm leaving out.
now the poor that used to inhabit that area are not invited to work at these new businesses. It seems to me only white trustifarians and other (white people) not so unlike myself are working these "artist" neighborhood spots. Is gentrification a good thing if the new business is eco-friendly organic etc. yet run by white liberals in a poor black neighborhood? I don't know. Just as I don't know if moore's new movie ultimately good for society or not.
is it revoltionary film, or entertainment for liberals who will enjoy having their own notions about bush reinforced by loveable teddy bear michael moore?
i truly hope the film inspires revoltion, as this is the only thing left for us to do to correct this world from self destruction.
I'm searching for my own ethics and answers, not preaching. if I knew what was right or wrong then i would be of no use to myself or anyone else on this planet.
love ya readers, don't take everything so seriously.
your pal,
tyler
